Silverman Associates, Inc. is dedicated to helping educational and non-profit institutions develop and implement innovative real estate and construction solutions to serve students, faculty, staff and constituents. The principal of the firm is Robert A. (”Rob”) Silverman, a Harvard-educated urban historian who has 30 years of experience at the intersection of real estate, construction and higher education. From 1992 to 2006, Rob oversaw the relocation of the Emerson College campus from the Back Bay section of Boston to state-of-the-art new facilities in the heart of the city’s Theatre District. The undertaking has been praised by public officials and the press for the positive impact it has had on improving the stature and stability of the College and rejuvenating a neighborhood once known as the “Combat Zone.” Rob previously worked as a consultant on projects that included planning for a ground-breaking, educational retirement community on the campus of Lasell College in Newton, and at Harvard University. During his 11 years at Harvard, he served as a vice president in the university’s subsidiary real estate corporation and then as the university’s Director of Planning, with responsibilities for campus-wide physical planning, design and construction administration. He originated the plan for Harvard’s expansion into the Allston section of Boston. Over the years, Rob has developed close relationships with a number of leading architects, construction companies, real estate firms, planners and others. He assembles and manages teams that are best suited to meet the specific challenges of individual projects. |
