The Boston Globe and other publications have praised Emerson College’s campus relocation and cited the key role that Rob Silverman, in partnership with Emerson President Jacqueline Liebergott, played in the development and execution of the ambitious, 14-year project.

A March 13, 2002 column by Globe business writer Steve Bailey, titled “Campus Builder,” extolls Silverman’s “vision” in creating the master plan for Emerson’s campus and his foresight in planning some 20 years ago for Harvard’s eventual expansion into Allston. He quotes the head of the Boston Foundation, Paul Grogan, as saying, “This is an example of someone without public identity shaping the city in some pretty fundamental ways. In both cases – what he engineered in Allston and at Emerson – they are immensely positive developments for the city of Boston. He is a visionary.”

A September 17, 2003 editorial in the Globe calls the campus relocation “Emerson’s transformation” and cited the “leadership of President Jacqueline Liebergott and Vice President Robert Silverman.”

In a July 19, 2003 article in the Globe, titled “Emerson takes center stage in Midtown,” Paul McCann of the Boston Redevelopment Authority states: For the city, they brought in life that helped eliminate crime downtown, freed up Back Bay housing, put it back on the tax rolls, and gave Boston a new showcase theater: the Majestic.”
