Robert A. (“Rob”) Silverman, the principal at Silverman Associates, Inc., has 30 years of experience at the intersection of real estate, construction and higher education.  He served for 14 years as Vice President for Administration and Finance at Emerson College in Boston.  In addition to his operational responsibilities, he was chiefly responsible for the relocation of Emerson from the Back Bay to Boston’s Theater District.  Before arriving at Emerson, Rob was an independent real estate consultant for five years, focusing on higher education assignments.  Previously, he worked at Harvard University for 11 years, first serving as a vice president in Harvard’s subsidiary real estate corporation and then as the university’s director of planning, with responsibilities for campus-wide physical planning, design and construction administration.  He earned his Ph.D. in history at Harvard, specializing in the development of the modern city.
