Rotch Field Completed in 2004, the Rotch Field project represents a unique partnership between Emerson College and the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department that transformed a run-down city playground into an athletic field that is used for intercollegiate and recreational sports and by resident’s of Boston’s South End community. The FieldTurf synthetic surface accommodates soccer, lacrosse and softball, as well as Little League baseball. A one-story brick clubhouse on the edge of the field provides locker rooms for athletes and officials, a trainer’s room, a meeting room, an office for the field manager, and storage. The entire area is fenced and landscaped and lighted for practice and competition after dark. Design/Builder: Camp Dresser & McKee |
